Charterwells Post-iT

General Terms and Conditions for Tracked & Signed-For Parcel Services (UK & International)

These Terms and Conditions apply to all shipments sent using Charterwells Post-iT’s Tracked and/or Signed-for parcel services, both within the United Kingdom and to international destinations. By using these services, the sender agrees to the following:

1. Definitions

“We”, “Us”, “Our” refer to Charterwells Post-iT.
“You”, “Your” refer to the sender or customer using our services.
“Parcel” means any packet, package, or letter accepted for delivery.
“Tracked” refers to services that include parcel tracking at key points in the delivery process.
“Signed-for” refers to services that require a recipient signature upon delivery.
“Working Day” means Monday to Saturday, excluding public holidays.

2. Scope of Service

Charterwells Post-iT provides Tracked and/or Signed-for delivery services for parcels up to our maximum weight and size limits. These services are available within the UK and to designated international destinations.

  • Tracked Services provide delivery confirmation and location scans at specific stages.
  • Signed-for Services ensure delivery to the recipient with a physical signature as proof.

3. Acceptance Criteria

We reserve the right to refuse parcels that:

  • Exceed maximum weight or size limits.
  • Contain prohibited or restricted items.
  • Are insufficiently packaged or labelled.
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations.

4. Delivery Aims

  • UK Deliveries: Aim to deliver within 1–3 working days after dispatch.
  • International Deliveries: Typically 3–7 working days, may vary due to customs or local factors.

Note: Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed.

5. Tracking and Proof of Delivery

  • Tracking: Available online using the tracking reference.
  • Signature: Required at delivery. A digital copy may be available.

6. Liability and Compensation

We will take reasonable care to ensure timely and secure delivery. In case of loss or damage:

  • Compensation may be provided per our Claims Policy.
  • Limited to declared value and service level.
  • No compensation for prohibited items or delays due to external factors.

Items can only be insured up to the maximum hammer price an auction item was purchased at. If multiple items were purchased within a lot, value is equally divided among them.

7. Claims Process

Claims must be submitted:

  • Within 80 calendar days for international items.
  • Within 30 calendar days for UK items.

You must provide:

  • Proof of posting (receipt).
  • Tracking reference.
  • Proof of value (e.g., auction invoice or receipt).
  • Evidence of damage, if applicable.

We aim to resolve claims within 30–40 working days.

8. Customs and International Deliveries

  • Sender must ensure accurate customs declarations.
  • We are not liable for delays/charges due to customs or import duties.
  • Parcels may be opened/inspected by authorities.

9. Service Limitations

  • We do not guarantee delivery to PO Boxes or incomplete addresses.
  • Incorrectly addressed parcels may incur return fees.
  • No liability for missed deadlines unless under premium service.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
